Peplum top - A First

Finally... After 3 months of sewing class (missed quite a few classes in between), my peplum top is done. Opted for a box pleat instead of gathering as I didn't want too much fullness at the waist. Thanks to Mrs Pang, sewing guru from Italy Fashion & Dressmaking Institute, for guiding me through the techniques and making me redo the stiches (this is when the seam ripper comes in handy). The tricky parts were the hidden zip, bias binding and of course, sleeves.

Recycling Project - Pencil Case

Never thought of making this until I saw it on YouTube - Recycled Chip Bag Pouch. Used kids' plastic book wrapper since it is similar to vinyl, isn't it? Am pretty happy with the results. The lining is made out of an old t-shirt.

Pencil Case - Boboiboy Rules

Finally sewn something I've pinned! Decided to make a few since little boy is always losing his pencil boxes (can also be given away as pressies or party packs filled with sweets!). The tute can be found here. Bag size would depend on your needs. I only had 7" zippers so the length for both was the same. For the flat bag, I found the tute on youtube (just search 'how to make a pencil case').

Note to self: Better to use thin batting rather than heavy weight interfacing. Bag turned out too stiff.
